For those of you wondering: What's with the high speed playback on some audio?

Answer:
In the case in which the mp3 sounds like a chipmunk talking when played back, I'd like to point out that this isn't really an Odeo player issue - this is a Flash player issue. Sometimes the Macromedia Flash player has a hard time dealing with files that are encoded at a rate that is not a multiple of 11.025 kHz. The result is what we call the “chipmunk” effect. When you download the file, it will play normally on your computer or device. Note to audio creators: Avoid being chipmunk’d by encoding MP3’s at 11.025 22.05 or 44.1 kHz.

When mp3s are submitted to Thoughtware.TV, the site will automatically embed it for you, and provide the original mp3 link in case you would like to download. We're looking into other alternatives to mp3 players, since it is unfortunate Flash sometimes can't play correctly MP3s that adhere to the MP3 standard.

Is there by any chance an official site link or blog for this mp3 post?

If so it would be nice if it were added as a related source :)

Thanks

So sad, the only thing I got to see here was: "Click here to download plugin". :-(
by Navras, on January 20 2008:
thanks Microsoft lol

Patricia, most likely you need the windows media player plugin for Firefox. You can get it free from microsoft's technet here:

http://port25.technet.com/pages/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download.aspx

(note: I usually prefer embedding flash players for audio files, instead of windows media player because not everyone here is running on Windows. But in this case, it makes perfect sense. If anyone is using Firefox, and you can't listen to the talk above, try the plugin. Alternatively, you can download the mp3 and listen to it)

Thanks go to Arlind for the WMP embed. Now most of us can listen to it directly from this page. :)
